2017 is going to have changes. Let’s see, a new President, possible interest and tax changes, a Republican run Congress and House – these are not small issues where each one of us will be affected. As such, there is no better time to do some estate planning than now.
If you have not yet created your Living Trust for your estate, it is FINALLY time to do so. We saw 80’s icons dropping unexpectedly in 2016. It is the unexpected that we want to be prepared for when it comes to taking care of you and your family. If you have not started with the basics, you are behind the ball, but do not fear – we can help!
a. We will walk you through the process of setting up your Living Trust with ease and not impeding on your schedule – we know that your time is important.
b. We will answer all questions and make sure you understand exactly what and why this is a necessary manner to leave a legacy and be prepared for the unexpected.
c. We will make it affordable and manageable.
The Living Trust is step one, but there are other important documents that are Must Have documents for you and your family. We include these with the full package when doing your Living trust. These documents are:
a. Durable Power of Attorney for Assets – Who will be able to handle your finances if you are unable to handle them on yourself?
b. Advance Health Care Directive – Who will be able to make health care decisions for you if you are unable to make them on your own? You will also be able to make some decisions NOW that may be used for you in the FUTURE.
c. Guardianship – Who is going to take care of your children should something happen to you?
d. Pour-Over Will – the beautiful catch-all document that allows assets found outside of the trust, to be put into the trust even if both Trustors are deceased.
Review of Your Current Documents
Perhaps you already have your Living Trust set up. When was the last time you looked at it? When was the last time you had an attorney review it? 2017 is a great time to get some eyes on those documents to be sure that your documents say what you want them to say and make changes should personal/family circumstances changed over the years.
Allow The Flaig Law Firm to assist you and your family in 2017 to prepare you NOW for the FUTURE.
